Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the World. For many people it is not only a passion, but also their lifes work and business. There are so many areas that grow unbelievably good quality Coffee that most of us now take for granted. Coffee only grows in certain areas and it's environment is crucial to its flavour characteristics.
The Coffee we drink is generally derived from two types of beans Robusta and Arabica. Arabica tends to offer the best quality and is used the most. Robusta tends to be blended with Arabica to give a different taste profile, the famous 80/20 blend is very popular although 100% Arabica tends to be the norm.
The soil Coffee grows in and the altitude it grows at also effects everything about the bean. Coffee made with higher altitude beans tastes totally different to one grown at a lower altitude, even neighbouring plantations/fincas can produce vastly different Coffee.
Coffee drinking is such a subjective experience and as such most peoples Coffee preference differs, we invite you to explore the World of Coffee, its a great subject and it will give you a great insight into this Special Drink.
